Our first landfall in the Marquesas was the island of Fatu Hiva where we anchored in the Bay of Virgins (#1).  Our next stop was Baie Tahauku on the island of Hiva Oa (#2) where we obtained our entry permit in the town of Atuona.  A day sail to Tahuata (#3) across the Canal du Bordelais brought us to Baie Hanamoenoa, one of the islands most popular anchorages.  From there it was off to Nuku Hiva (#4) where we enjoyed the Bastille Day celebrations, anchored in Baie de Taiohae on the southern coast of the island.  On our way to the northern coast, we spent a night in Baie d'Haahopu on the northwestern tip of the island.  We enjoyed the solitude of being the only boat in the anchorage.  Our favorite anchorages were along the northern coast, Baie D'Anaho and Baie D'Hatiheu.
